Thank God it's Friday. Yaaay!
Wassup, my people? How's your day going? I know you are greatly anticipating closing time..Lol.
So, who's gonna share their Friday plans with me? I'd like to know. For me, its just hanging out with family and gisting with my partner-in-crime, my immediate younger brother who's also visiting.. He's got plenty hot gists for me according to him. Can't wait to hear them..
Okay. Its #DahliaTime.
So, as I was sharing, I moved out of the house. They even prayed for me and committed my hustle into God's hands. And so, life as a spinster begun. I quickly settled in and prepared to resume at my new job. I would leave for work first thing in the morning and not return a lot of times till about 9 or 10, sometimes as late as 11pm from Monday to Saturday, a few Sundays inclusive. That job was really challenging and after some time, I started to plan my exit. I left the job after 4 months and 2 weeks in hopes of set up my business and living my dreams.
I began to consult with entrepreneur friends as to how to go about what I wanted to do. Tips here and there were very helpful as I put pen to paper to write down ideas as they came. It was gradually coming together. Soon enough, I got a carpenter to fix some furniture for me. I began to buy equipment, tools, materials and ingredients in anticipation of my big break into the industry. I officially registered "Dahlia Delights", a name I came up with after reading about different beautiful flowers and what their names mean. Dahlia connotes elegance and diligence; these are beautiful attributes that I can relate to. Add diligence to your creativity and what you get is pure elegance! So, Dahlia just stuck. A few very close friends liked the name and approved of it so, I was good to go.
I remember running my first trial production. Of course, I had to test-run my machinery to be sure there were no problems anywhere. It was really beautiful and fun but a little challenging too.
I heard my neighbours pass comments to one another about the sweet aroma they couldn't resist. The children in the compound were just "parabulating" around my corridor like they kept some mystery object there, making comments like, "hmm..somebody is baking cake..Anty 'Bunmi is doing cake..This cake will be sweet o.." lol. You know how kids are..
On completion of the goodies, I made my observation, took down the necessary data for the records (they are absolutely necessary!) and fiam! My cake was gone. I was sharing cake to the kids like it was my baiday. Afterall, they had finished the thing with their noses.
The excitement on their faces thatay was second to none, and I felt I was nearing the mark.
I sense your mouth watering over there. People are almost teaching out for cake. Hehehe.. Worry not, my cake-tasting party is coming soon. Just stay tuned. Miss it, miss out!
I'd try to finish this story as soon as possible, so we can properly structure things around here. It promises to be a very interesting one. I already have suggestions as to how to make this blog veeery fun for my #DahliaReaders. I can't wait to implement them!
Loads of fun await you guys. Just keep reading the #DahliaStory. Love y'all muchos. *muuah*
